What to expect after completing a Mortgage Assistance Application

We understand that financial challenges can happen, and we appreciate you taking the step to explore mortgage assistance. Our goal is to make the process as clear and supportive as possible.

Here's what you can expect now that you've submitted your application.

Everything in one place

Our Mortgage Assistance page lets you stay up to date on your application status, any outstanding documents or payments, and available options. Log in or create an account to get started.

Timely updates during our initial review

Once we receive your application, we’ll send you confirmation within five business days. That way you know for sure that your request is officially in process.

At this stage, we’ll review your application to make sure you’ve included everything we need to evaluate your request. If anything is missing, we’ll notify you promptly and let you know exactly what’s needed.

No waiting with e-sign

You can sign documents electronically to avoid printing, mailing and waiting. Learn more about the benefits of using e-sign.

Help with sending missing information

If we need additional information or documents, you’ll have 30 days to submit the missing items. It’s important to send the requested information within this timeframe, so we can continue reviewing your application without delay. If you have questions or need help gathering documents, we’re here for you.

Careful review and tailored decisions

Once we have your complete application, it typically takes up to 30 days for us to review your information and provide a decision. The total timeline can vary depending on the type of mortgage assistance you qualify for and the specifics of your financial situation.

During the review, we carefully evaluate your circumstances to determine the most appropriate option to help you maintain your home, if possible.

Loan modification trial plans

If you're approved for a loan modification, the next step is usually a trial period plan, which typically lasts about three months. During the trial period, you’ll make the new agreed-upon payments based on the modified loan terms.

The trial period is designed to make sure that the new payment is sustainable for you before the changes become permanent.

Help with finalizing your loan modification

After you successfully complete the trial period, we’ll reach out with instructions for finalizing the loan modification. This includes reviewing, signing, and returning the final agreement within the required timeframe so the new terms can be made permanent.
